Spectrolee's Three Week Disney Trip - Day 3 Animal Kingdom
Off to Animal Kingdom today Isabel and I have made our own ears! Just thought I'd share - the Grandstand pool is open 7-11 The mug station opens at 7am too. We're trying to work out when it closes, its before 11pm though. Ed chose this mornings snacks for him and Joni - yup, one each. At over $5 each I'm glad we could use snack credits for these Ed's in charge of the map today First stop was the safari. Ed loved this, after each animal he shouted "more animals" and "more rhinos" Yay, Joni's favourite, a giraffe. We then headed round to Pandora for our River Journey fastpass. We really enjoyed this ride (had really great effect, although it did seem like a Small World/ET mashup) Joni having a carry on while waiting of food from the Satu'li Canteen Isabel and I had the Bao Buns - one cheeseburger and a vegetable curry one We shared these so we had one of each Both were really nice (though the yellow spices stained really quickly, was hard to get it off our fingers) Kids cheeseburger bao bun Kids cheese quesadilla Matt had the satu'li bowl Chicken, potato hash and black bean vinaigrette Eva had fish, rice and I think the creamy herb dressing Davie had the same as Matt, but with rice instead of potato hash The bowls were definitely better value for money. I would choose this the next time. Even though this is a quick service restaurant, the meals come on real plates and cutlery. Matt enjoyed a green beer We used way too many snack credits today on food that wasn't eaten Ice lollies Cake pops etc Although we used them on large frappucinos in Starbucks too, so it all evens out. Joni spent some of the dollars she got from family on this tinker bell set. I saw this really nice Snow White tsum tsum cottage, complet with seven dwarfs Just didn't think it was quite worth $45 though! Joni and Ed didn't eat much of their lunch so they had some nuggets and chips in Restaurantosaurus The monkeys were full of fun today We had a nice stroll through the Maharajah Jungle Trek (photos on go-pro I'll put here later) Matt and Eva took Ed home after this (Ed has a cold, so just making sure he doesn't overdo it) Davie, Isabel and I headed round to Nomad's Lounge for a bite to eat and some drinks (not on DDP) We had the charcuterie board Cheese selection And the Poutine with brisket All the food was fantastic, although we do prefer the poutine at the Daily Poutine in Disney Springs The service was great, we had a lovely server- Jorge Onto the drinks - Davie had a Modelo I had the Snow Leopard Salvation The ginger beer had a nice kick Isabel had a Jenn's Tattoo (well she had two but who's counting lol!) The total with tip came to $107, so it's not a cheap place for a snack and drink, however the lounge is beautiful with indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. It is attached to Tiffins which is a signature restaurant. We've not eaten here yet and there are other two credit locations we'd like to try first. I used my fuel rod to charge my phone in Nomads, so swapped it for a fresh one in Island Mercantile Joni got Davie to buy her a giraffe. He got an okapi to take back for Ed as it was his new favourite animal today. He was over the moon with his present. Only Isabel and I used the Everest fastpass for today. There was a 30 min queue, but for some reason we had a ride car to ourselves. We decided at 6pm that it was time to head back. The weather has been amazing today, cloudy and breezy - perfect for our busy park day. Joni had persuaded Davie that she needed a Doc McStuffins before we left. Eva and Matt had dinner from Artists Pallete Eva had the pasta special Matt had the buffalo chicken panini The sides were a yoghurt parfait and a houmous with vegetables Pool noodle is still the favourite toy haha |
