That explains it! My one grip with Tescos is the delivery saver, I know there is priority given to delivery saver but its a little unfair when for example people have been using weekly deliveries for 15 years compared to someone who just signed up for Christmas and given the same window as such.

This is every year not particularly this year, I found it hard last year to get a slot and mentioned the above to them as feedback.

I agree with what you say but my question would also be why havnt you signed up to Delivery Saver if you have used them so frequently, it may actually save money for you.

Also, what businesses want is to encourage people to be dedicated to their buisness. This is no different to airlines offering free seating and lounges to people who fly frequently.

Is a buisness decision, you need to manipulate the decision in your favour.

100% agree with this. In first lockdown my friend ended up nursing on the covid ward, understandably she didn't now want to be going round the supermarket - first she was shattered from all the additional shifts and second she was worried about carrying covid to the community. She always had tesco delivered, has had for years. But couldnt get a slot

I’ve been a delivery saver customer for over 10 years. Never had an issue with Christmas slots before. However, this year was a nightmare. I logged on at 6.55am, and finally got to access the website at 9.35am. Latest slot was 21 December, which will probably mean a last minute shop to get fresh food.

I think the problem this year was releasing slots at 7am. In previous years it’s been midnight. I think that led to a lot more people accessing the website at the same time. Hopefully they will learn from this year. I agree, an indication as to how long you’ll be in the queue for would have been helpful. I tried accessing the website through the app, iPad and PC, and all had the same holding message.

Sorry I didn't explain well I am a delivery saver customer, have been for 15 years but there is no benefit when it comes to Christmas being a long standing customer compared to someone who signs up 2 week before to delivery saver to get a slot.

Ahh, sorry, I misunderstood andnof course you are right.

I had until lockdown had a Sainsburys delivery pass for about 15 years, once lockdown arrived it was simply impossible for me to get a Sainsburys delivery despite having paid for the year.

I am new to Tesco delivery but started in lockdown as I got deliveries for my elderly neighbours and still 8 months later I am getting their food for them. There was not enough items in the delivery for all of us so my husband and I started click and collecting our own food from Waitrose.

After 7 months of Waitrose Click and collect they nominated me to a privilege slot pass, I didnt ask they simply emailed and told me I had priority on Xmas slots.

Different ways of doing buisness I guess.
