Who would you use? (Air Canada..air transat?)

We have family in Canada and are planning to visit late August. We have managed to sort out where to stay. Now we have to book flights.

Which airline have you found best to use? (Flying from Manchester to Toronto)
There will be 2 adults, 8year old and a 21 month old.
Would you also suggest booking a separate seat for the youngest instead of sitting on our lap?
Experiences?

I may be wrong here but I thought at age 2 they had to have a seat anyway.

At 2 they do, but I'm assuming it's the 21 month old to be sat on the lap, rather than the 8 yr old

And to answer the OP, I would book a seat - the closest experience I have was flights to Florida with an 5yr old, but he just curled up on the seat and slept.

Thank you
Looking at air Canada rouge and air transat seats I think maybe his own seat might be better space wise

We are flying Air Transat this summer - simply because it is a direct flight and the cost was the same as indirect!

Go for the one which has the days/hours that suit you best if the cost is similar!

Flown with Air Transat Man to Toronto and they were fine. Can't complain at the price! We were on the A310 though that didn't have any entertainment. Have heard good things about Air Canada but not flown with them.

Hi, we flew to Toronto in August last year, Air Transat on way out and Air Canada Rouge on the way back. They were both fine but if I had a choice I would pick Air Transat, crew were friendlier, we had individual screens with older films on (Air Canada Rouge you download IFE system to your tablet). Hot sandwiches were given out as the meal.
