Getting to know the DIBB

I flew with them in 2015 to Orlando because I was trying to save a bit of money (loyal VA customer normally). They weren't too bad to be fair. The entertainment is minimal unless you pay the £4 upgrade per TV to get the best selection of films. I sat in economy and found the seats very uncomfortable, almost like I was sitting on a piece of wood. The food was as you would expect, drinks were not included. But this was 2 years ago it may of changed

I flew with TC too in 2015, you do pay for the drinks and tv upgrade but I found the seats were comfy enough, decent leg room and I found the staff so much more friendly and approachable than Virgin crew who I had flown with twice previously. Anyway we're flying to Orlando again with TC in Aug.

They are ok. Had no problems with them. If it's the right price then book it. You pay for drinks and upgraded IFE, food out is good ok coming home. If you book a package you get free seat choice. Happy holidays.

We went last may and are again this april direct from Glasgow, the staff were the nicest we have encountered ever. We booked exit row seats which were great, even booking them it was still cheaper than BA for us indirect and no exit row seats.
Seats were comfy, the plane was new the year before we were told. Ok the movies weren't great unless you upgraded, but everything else was fine. Just take extra drinks etc thats the only thing you don't get free, whats a couple of quid for a few bottles of water or pop etc from airport .

The IFE is rubbish (even if you pay to upgrade!) but other than that I couldn't find any difference. I actually thought the seats were more spacious than on VA - although I don't know the actual measurements. We have flown with them twice before and booked with them again this year
(we do fly from Gatwick though so I don't know if the planes are different from Manchester)

We had a good experience of flying TC. We've flown with Virgin before and I'd say virgin's entertainment system is better than TC but other than that I'd say TC are just as good. The food was good (as good as it can be for airline food) and the staff were great, especially with my boys. They brought them a certificate to say, 'Thanks for flying with TC' and upon returning to Manchester they took them to see the cockpit and captain. You do have to pay for drinks if you fly economy but we bought some from boots, airside, before we boarded.
I'd fly with them again. |

we always flew with virgin, but the prices went way to high, so tried thomas cook last 2years and i must say they were great, good seats ,plenty legroom ,nice food, yes you have to pay to upgrade your tv and pay for drinks, but the amount of money we saved was well worth it , will fly with them again

Be aware that, to quote TC when I enquired about IFE on my forthcoming Stansted flight, 'only some of the flights out of Manchester this year will be on an aircraft that does NOT have seat back IFE'. I believe it is one of the Air Tanker planes they have on lease this year. Look for Thomas Cook and/or Air Tanker in the Forum search and you will find lengthy recent posts including ones from some of the real TC experts on the Dibb
