I thought I read that it was between 7 and 8 am and you would only be allowed in with ID.

Wouldn't start today as they don't open until 10.

Or am I missing something!

Why reserves why not regs ?

Do you know how long it will take to mobilise reserves ?

In addition to these problems a very large number of TA are key workers so it probably is not a good idea to take a dr, a nurse or a logistics specialist away from their civvy job to control ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈s at a supermarket. The supermarket can use private security for this.

Here is a copy of the email I got x

We (Sainsbury's) have therefore decided to allow NHS and social care workers to shop in our supermarkets for half an hour before they open each day. So anyone with NHS ID will be able to shop from 07.30-08.00 every day from Monday to Saturday. We're delighted to be able to offer priority shopping to all the hard-working NHS staff across the country who are working so hard to keep us all safe and well.

In addition to this, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, all our supermarkets will dedicate 08.00-09.00 to serving elderly customers, disabled customers and carers.

Wow we really are in a mess. I hope this gets resolved soon, if the reports are true that we have bought a billion pounds worth of food in the last week, surely we need to start to eating it and therefore ease the pressure on the supermarkets
Stay safe everyone xx

The problem is - you give people a time or a limit and everyone either goes at that time or reaches the limit, even if they would not have done earlier.

I popped into Sainsbury's about 1pm yesterday to grab some milk - it was less busy that usual Saturday lunchtimes - granted there was less on the shelves but more than enough to feed you.

They even brought out the elusive toilet role whilst I was there.

People need to stop going at 'opening' time and just be normal about things - shelves are refilled all the time.

I was in Tesco 9.30 this morning for NHS hour. It was not busy at all. Still lots of empty shelves but got toilet roll, paracetamol and some other things difficult to get. Nobody was overshopping and there were no families in.

There was a small queue waiting outside when I left waiting for normal opening time.

When I was leaving someone was there to say thank you for your hard work and give out a bunch of flowers.

My friends fireman & wife ambulance staff couldnt get near. Morrisons have an hour 7-8 just for NHS in which u need ID to get into store. It maybe a better system.

I am hoping if lots of shops are doing this on a regular basis that the rush might die down afer a week or two.

Cambridge is a high NHS empolyer we have a major hospital here along with so many other NHS agencies.
