Should I take something out my packed case now or take a chance?
OK... going to Orlando on Thursday with BA World Traveller Plus... so allowed two cases @ 23KG each. But I'm taking a case within a case and bringing two back (hopefully with lots of shopping bargins). Just weighed my luggage and it's 23.3KG. Do you think they'll let it go or will I have to take items out. I'm doing twilight check in so it won't be such a big deal if I do.
Thanks

take something out, as soon as they weigh it, its .3 over and might want excess baggage

I wouldn’t. That’s near enough and every scale weighs different. I’ve never been pulled up on a few points over.

Split your stuff between the 2 cases and take 2 light weight cases out.

When we were coming back last year, they were very strict on weight (this was American Airlines tho). We had one case just over & one well under, but had to rearrange them or pay $100. Loads of people were rearranging stuff!

We were told (by airport staff)although it’s a good few years ago now that the 23kg limit ensures that people don’t go over the ‘real’ limit which is 25kg, so I would think you’ll be fine

I believe they’re ok if you’re within 1kg of the limit.
Another poster mentioned the ‘real’ limit of 25kg; this is the weight at which you’ll get the orange HEAVY tag put on your case to warn the baggage handlers; had that on more than 1 of our cases over the years! 25kg isn’t the maximum weight they’ll accept; that is 32kg. Edited at 09:30 PM. |
