Anyone flown into Key West or Wst Palm Beach?

Looking at fights this August.

We have found some that fly from London to Atlanta and then down to either Key West or West Pam Beach.

We had thought about visiting the Keys, so this would work well before driving up to Orlando.

Has anyone any experience of these airports?

Not flown into Key West but dropped car off and picked another one up for a one way hire.

Airport is tiny. It's only $9 a head for a taxi from airport to anywhere is Key West.

Is it easy enough to arrange car hire for there? We would be picking up a car to drive to Orlando.

Yes, we've flown there and hired a car which we collected on arrival which we dropped off at MIA.

Its a small airport as above but perfectly fine

Key west airport is fab ...it literally has the smallest luggage belt Ive ever seen! it is so tropical feeling when you get there you will need it after going through Atlanta.
I would pre book a car before you go even though there are cars there, you may not get the one you would like depending on the time of day, whether its a US holiday etc.

Flown in and out numerous times, airport is tiny but great, one luggage belt and steps from the plane. Defo organise car hire beforehand, first time we arrived there were signs on all desks saying no cars. Avis is onsite and Alamo a short shuttle away. If you're thinking of staying in key west a couple of nights you could always taxi or uber to hotel (Best Western Hibiscus comes highly recommended) then say second or third day book the hop on hop off tram which stops within walking distance from Alamo depot and collect your car, although parking at Hibiscus is free and plentiful anyhow. Flying out of Key West is fun too, beach bar in departures.

Will you be staying in the Keys at all? It is a 6 1/2 hour drive to Orlando on a good day :-D. There is only one road through the Keys and traffic can be an issue depending on the time of the year and the day of the week.

Also be aware the speed limit from the keys up is strictly enforced at 55mph .

Yes, we will be staying in the Keys. We stayed there 22 years ago and remember the drive.

We are planning to break the journey up to Orlando by staying somewhere along the way for the night.
