Virgin Holidays & Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
Hi guys, im looking at booking a 2020 trip pretty soon and was wondering if any of you book a trip through Virgin Holidays and then upgrade your seats with their Flying Club?
I just want to know how easy it is to do, or if you have to book your flights/hotel separately? Thanks! |

Hi. Welcome to the Dibb.
If you book a 'holiday' with Virgin Holidays they are selling seats on their sister company Virgin Atlantic. That way they can sell these seats even before VA have launched the dates in question and certainly well before VA have decided how many flight and the times of those flights per day. However it does lock in a price and of course it is deposit only. Here is the sting in the tail. VH sell the cheapest seats in their class. These are not upgradeable with Miles albeit VH can engineer this change for you but it's normally quite expensive as they have to upgrade the 'class' of the ticket first. Hope that makes sense. As an aside I wont touch VH for quite a few reasons but mainly as for most holidays they are expensive. If it was me I would look at doing everything DIY as I lay odds it will be cheaper. Pay on a credit card and you are fully protected. If you want to know more about Miles please ask as we do 4 x VA flights to Florida a year.

If you are a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club member you can get a 7% discount with Virgin Holidays. I don't think they will use it against the taxes part of the flights but they will use it on everything else including tickets. Might be worth looking at, as we did this and booked Hard Rock Hotel for next year and not sure we could have got a much better deal if we'd have booked DIY which we normally do.
