Planning on buying some this time, are they as nice as in the restaurant? Easy to make?

Yes & yes.
They are amazing! To make, you put the boxed mix into a mixing bowl. Add grated cheese & cold water. Mix until just combined. Scoop into 10 even lumps on a couple of baking trays. When they come out the oven, melt some butter (seconds in the microwave) and add the garlic seasoning. Then you just brush this over the top of each. Simples!

I don’t use eggs on my scones. I found the best thing was to make the mixture as dry as possible, so that it only just sticks together and there a few crumbs left in the bowl. I gently coax the mixture together, turn it out on to a well-floured board and pat it flat-ish with floured hands, then I cut the round into six triangular scones. That was I do not have any excess left over to either bin or press together to make another less than a dummy scone.

My full proof method for scones is;
450g self raising flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 75g best butter(put in freezer) 85g sugar 150 ml milk Mix flour and boil together GRATE the frozen butter into the flour and just lightly mix with a fork... never over mix Add sugar and add milk Very lightly mix until you have a dough Roll out until . Keep it fairly thick. When cutting scone shapes press down but NEVER twist as this makes the scones “grow” sideways... you want the scone to rise straight up. Wash the tops of scones with just the yolk of an egg. Works every time
