Seas the Day - Kevin & Nicky join the Yacht Club Set!
Hi all
In just over 48 hours we will be in Florida - I think it is true to say we are now starting to get excited... A quick introduction - Me - Kevin, celebrated my 50th birthday last September, a Civil Servant for the last 15 years or so. Likes - reading, sport, listening to music, chess, cinema, chilling out, eating out and walking in the local countryside. Like most rides (not keen on ones where I go upside down though ) Favourite park - Epcot. Favourite restaurant - Sweet Tomatoes (off site), Teppan Edo (onsite). My better half - Nicky, approaching her big birthday next year, also a Civil Servant for two years or so. Likes - reading, holidays, eating out, swimming, cinema, listening to music, playing PC games and chilling out. Likes rides that don't make her feel queasy but really likes the water rides Favourite park - MK and Epcot (tie). Favourite restaurant - Red Lobster (off site), Beaches and Cream (on site). And one of us together! We were last in Florida in May 2016 and stayed for a week at the Beach Club (really liked) and a week at the Rosen Inn nearest Universal (stayed there several times in the past; good location and price but felt a little bit of a let down after the BC ). We've been to Florida most years since about 2004 and have also stayed at Disney World of Sports and the Cabana at Universal as well as the Rosen and Beach Club. Last year I 'celebrated' my 50th and we had ten days in Seattle staying at an AirBnB - our first visit to the city and we really enjoyed it and will definitely go back soon. We are both American Football fans and I have been a supporter of the Seattle Seahawks, the local team, for over 30 years and we managed to get tickets for their first home game last season which was amazing Seattle is a really beautiful city and we are considering perhaps doing a return trip next year, split between Seattle and another city - maybe San Francisco as we haven't been there for over 10 years. In the past, I have always meant to do a trip report but somehow it never quite happened but this time I am determined to do so Anyway, we are off to Gatwick tomorrow so I think I just have time to do a quick pre trippie We are on the DDP and are looking forward at eating at some new places 26 Sept - heading down to Gatwick, we have booked a night at the Sofitel and will drop off our bags at the Virgin twilight check in. 27 Sept - travel day, we fly out at around 11:30. We have booked an evening meal at Beaches & Cream. 28 Sept - Epcot with an evening meal at Teppan Edo. 29 Sept - Disney Springs / shopping with an evening meal at Cafe May. 30 Sept - Animal Kingdom with lunch at Tusker House. 1 Oct - A water park with dinner at La Hacienda 2 Oct - Animal Kingdom with lunch at Yak & Yeti. 3 Oct - Epcot with dinner at The Nine Dragons. 4 Oct - Magic Kingdom with lunch at The Crystal Palace. 5 Oct - A water park / shopping day / chilling by the pool with lunch at The ESPN Club. 6 Oct - Epcot with dinner at Tokyo Dining. 7 Oct - Animal Kingdom / Magic Kingdom with dinner at Boma. 8 Oct - Hollywood Studios with lunch at the Sci Fi Diner. 9 Oct - A water park with dinner at Trails End. 10 Oct - Magic Kingdom with dinner at Park Fare. 11 Oct - Epcot and travel back We have booked Fast Passes and also have some ideas on where to have other meals thanks to lots of great advice from Dibbers! Suitcases almost packed, waiting for supper and then a fairly early night because we are off to Gatwick tomorrow Thanks for reading! Kev |
