So pleased for you that things have started. Loved seeing all the photos & makes it clear how much damage was done after all the previous work you’d done, I really don’t know how you’re coping & you should be very proud of yourself for keeping your head in all this.
Hope that the bathroom tiling comes down as sounds like it needs stripping back fully to ensure it’s safe & as it should be. Xx

This is the first I’ve seen on this thread! (Not sure how I missed it before!)

Wow! You are incredible - not only undertaking such a mammoth project, but to be redoing it all after the fire - I think I’d of had a total breakdown! But you seem so together and strong - I truly hope your home ends up being everything you dreamed it would be - you deserve it!

Thank you It is difficult going back to the original stage but at least it is ridding the house of all the devastation the fire caused. I hope the tiling comes down if not I guess we will have to pay for it ourselves to ensure the smoke smell is eradicated. I can't let my children go back into the house with any reminder of the fire

Thank you … I'm not that strong and together but trying my best lol. The kids really help keep me going. Hopefully in future I will see the funny side of my soap opera life

So nothing much has happened due to Christmas but the builders hit a problem. I found out a few weeks ago but felt too upset to post at that point.
We were called for a site meeting. The builder pushed the plasterboard on the wall (in the kitchen) and it moved like there was an earthquake... Next doors roof is inadequate and is leaking behind our gutter... They have said they will discuss it with them to see what can be resolved until they fix their roof work in the kitchen cannot proceed. After a flurry of kitchen threads on here It has left me feeling in complete limbo.
The chances of us getting in before our holiday are getting slimmer.
Why can things never be simple

How awful if they don’t fix it it could take months to get back in

It's terribly disappointing and must be very frustrating. I hope that you are sorted soon.

So firstly thanks everyone for providing advice on my many threads
This update includes a video (I requested my dh to take photos as I only go when the builders are there) but he came back with a video lol.

It had stalled for a while but good progress has happened in the last week
Things that have changed.
A new back door and new front windows.
A central heating system in progress
Plaster boarding
Insulation.

It is really starting to look like it is progressing now.
We have paid for the roof fixing and the neighbours have made a small contribution which is better than nothing
