Universal Studios Japan.. Express passes questions

Hi all

We have bought universal tickets for Wednesday. I’ve read everywhere that it is very busy and the lines have 3 hour waits.

The ticket person did not speak English and I tried asking him about express passes and he just said not today.

My questions are:

Has anyone been at this time of year midweek? If so how long were the lines? (Can’t seem to find a live wait time app)

If you bought express passes, where did you get them from? The ticket booth or inside the park?

Thank you
X

Hi Rachel, ask on tripadvisor if you still have no answer. I found them very helpful. Good luck and enjoy your day

Thanks.👍🏻 I’ve had a look at the map he gave me and I think you buy them in the park. I think we’ll get them. Queueing for hours on end is no fun.

Are you home now and adjusting back to the English weather? 💧💧

That's good as you don't want to be queuing Yep, we got home Saturday night. It was funny, we jumped on the tube to go home and I have to say, I welcomed just getting on and none of this traipsing from one place to the other carry on wondering where to take the next train from-but then we were very tired and had been up for 24 hours by that point. The weather was kind enough not to rain until we got home the next day lol. I have not been out yet, but will be back at work on Wednesday How long have you got left? I hope it goes slowly for you The only thing DS misses are the arcades and his daily fill of Coolish, lol. Have you tried it? It's ice-cream in a foil pack with a screw lid on it He moaned about some of our early starts but they are off on Safari with their Dad on Sunday. He'll realise what early is then

Aah... the ice creams.. yes I’ve seen them. My niece had one but I’ve avoided the temptation so far! We have only got a few days left. We are travelling to Hiroshima tomorrow, Universal on Wednesday, possibly a look round the streets of Kyoto (Can’t face another temple) on Thursday and we fly Friday. Looking forward to some R&R to be honest as it’s been none stop with no down time. I’m back to work at the end of the six weeks so have a couple of weeks to recover. A Japan holiday in the middle of August is not for the faint hearted that’s for sure!😉

Glad the weather was kind and you made it home ok. Lucky DS going on holiday again so soon though unless it involved lounging on a beach with a cocktail in my hand, I’d have to decline! 😂

Lol-I know exactly what you mean. It did get to the stage where we got completely templed out, lol. I tyhink I was secretly fuming about the Shibuya crossing being a let down as filming us going across it was supposed to be such a highlight, lol. And DS was not even entertaining seeing Hachiko the statue of the dog I moaned so much rotfl! I must admit, as lovely as it is they are off on Safari, I started looking at holidays to Abu Dhabi as soon as I got home

So apparently there is an app for wait times for Universal Studios Japan. The minions ride was showing an eye watering 210 minute wait 3 minutes after park opening. Surely that can’t be right? 210 minutes at 8:33?!?!
