Mobile Dibbers Row

Is free on our flight, but it only seats 3 and we are a family of four - how do those with four find this in terms of being split up? Do you choose other seats? I have 37 row of four booked at minute which we did last time and found to be good seats, but just wondered what people’s preferences were?

Yes but then I suppose you risk having people sat next to you then don’t you?

We had 3 in Dibbers row and 1 in the row in front (window seat). We were lucky on the way out as the middle seat remained empty next to DH - so fingers crossed for return journey

We've been in dibbers row several times when we were a family of 3 (and it didn't cost!), not any more, we now need 4 seats.

Arranging for nobody to be sat with you and to not be split up is the one thing you can do to control your environment on a flight.
Wriggly kids, larger people, overly chatty people, sleepy snoring people. People that are asleep when you need to wee, people that need to wee when you're having a snooze etc etc. There are all kinds of perfectly normal behaviours which can drive you scatty when in such a confined space, when they wouldn't even be noticed normally. Why risk sitting next to somebody that might annoy you if you don't have to?

When we were a 4 but only taking up 3 seats and they were charging for the upper cabin, we started to book a row somewhere around upper twenties 27-29 HJK. (whatever was available when it was free). Dibbers row is good, but not worth paying for as we've been there done that. The cubby hole is great, as is getting off quick...but nobody tells your bags to get a move on ! We also learned along the way that the armrests don't go all the way back upstairs, which stops the kids cuddling into you which helps them to nap. So it does have it's downsides, and risking breaking the party for me is the most important one! Of course if you get empty seats next to you it's a real win, but I prefer not to gamble.

We also have 37 DEFG booked for our flight home, and 46 DEFG for the trip out. (37 wasn't available on the way out).

We are a family of 5 and always have the same problem, I've found booking wife with eldest and youngest either side in front, me at window with other daughter in the middle in the row behind.

She doesn't mind potentially sitting next to a stranger as she is either on IFE or I pad and as she needs to wee a lot it means that she doesn't bother me at all

Cant have her with the wife and another child as she has the middle child syndrome and argues with everyone when she is more than one on one.

Dibbers row is either of the back rows of economy seats upstairs in the Virgin 747's. When the seats were available to all for free it was one of the most sought after set of seats, so much so that it got it's own nickname,

We are a 5 and have Dibbers row and the row in front. There is one seat spare and that's next to me on the exit. It might stay empty it might not. in 2012 Someone was in that seat but their family was downstairs so he spent most of the flight with them.

Yes, I totally agree. We got lucky on our last trip as both had spare seats. Worse case this time and we do then we have said we would ask if they wanted to swap with g.parents as we're travelling together and will save disturbing strangers for toilet breaks or just wanting to get up
