Just chuck it in a bag for life as it falls past the till. I usually have it done by the time the cashier tells me the cost,

I only tend to do a smaller shop at Aldi (about 2 bags worth), but love the challenge of packing as they scan. As others have said, heavy items on the belt 1st, to make packing easier.

I load the heavy stuff tins bottles potatoes etc first on the belt then whizz it in the trolley. Pack on the bench then I'm out of there. On the rare occasion I've had a lottery win and go to Tesco I can't stand the slow speed. I'm used to having my stuff thrown at me so I can get out quick. Hate shopping with a passion.

I only ever buy a few items each time so I just stuff it all in my handbag.
It is a bit of an odd system they have but then the one in the town I work in only ever has 1-2 checkouts open so I guess it makes sense not to have people dawdling. * On a side note, anyone tried Lidl macarons? I bought some for a cake and they’re much nicer than the M&S ones. Only £4 for 24! I absolutely cannot make them. Epic fail every time

We just pile it back in the trolley and pack in bags at the car (unless it’s tipping down, then we use the packing bench) I still find this much quicker than at regular supermarkets and less stressful as I don’t have to wait for the person in front to finish packing or have to rush for the person behind me in the queue.

I don’t shop at Aldi or Lidl, so I don’t know what the system is. However I am an expert in packing and easily keep up with scanning and have things in the right bags and right type of bags, e.g. pantry, fridge, upstairs etc.
