Virgin-what the catch?
I have been looking at car prices for a week in February. Booking an Alamo car through Virgin Atlantic is less than half of the price of booking an Alamo car through Alamo…….
Is this really correct? I think they include same insurances and taxes, but am I missing anything...? Has anyone booked car hire alone with Virgin? Is it OK?

Yes it’s fine. I’ve no idea how they can have lower prices but it’s all legitimate.

I’m sure I read someone say these bookings are refundable but I can’t see anything in their website.
Does anyone know for sure please?

Where do you actually find the “page” to book car hire only with virgin atlantic? Can find it for virgin holidays easily enough.

I phoned Virgin Holidays in the end as i couldn't tell from the car hire only pages on their website if they were refundable.
The operator went away and checked and said they wernt then i pointed out that on one of their pages selling the benefits of fly drive one of the bullet points said 'free cancellation and amends' She then said they would make my booking refundable and put it in writing for me. |

I am also interested in knowing what the catch is, looking around for the best deal for next August and Virgin beats everyone else including Andy. Virgin are never the cheapest!
I have scoured through and all looks ok, all the insurances, etc, etc. Just wondering if I have missed anything? |
