My Booking Invoice Confirmation shows in the Notes of the Hotel section:

No Resort Fee
Resort fee waived for for all Virgin Holidays customers

Virgin Holidays prices include resort fees and that includes hotel only bookings.

I was sure the resort was included with Virgin. So glad to hear it was included for you! What I have noticed on their website recently is that some hotels with the include the resort fee others dont. I am sure in the past they always included the resort fee. or it did when we booked with them! There is just so much you need to look out for!
