American Girl store

My youngest has discovered the American Girl website. It's her birthday while we are there and she has her heart set on a particular doll. I know they are extortionate but she does love her dolls. Just wondered if anyone has been in the store yet and do they have a good selection? After all the planning I wasn't sure if we should chance it or preorder the one she's chosen? She is asking for $$ as presents so she can buy an outfit too.

Hi my daughter loves these dolls too. Our trip to Florida last year had to start in Miami, just so that she could visit the store for her birthday lunch and buy the doll that she'd been saving for for a year. She had a fabulous time and the staff were brilliant with her. She took the AG doll that she already had with her so that she could visit the hair salon (part of her present from us), then bought Kit and the bits that she'd saved for so that she could take both of her dolls for lunch. Afterwards, my DH and DS joined us so that she could choose her main birthday gift from us. The staff gave her a special birthday bag with lots of goodies in and she was thrilled that she got to keep the doll crockery from lunch as well. Its not cheap but we've been happy to encourage her as she was never into dolls as a small child but absolutely adores these ones. They go everywhere with her and she spends ages doing their hair etc. She's already saving for the doll that she wants when we go back to Orlando in Aug 2016! I've had friends visit other AG stores and all have had the same good experience. They have loads of dolls in stock but if you're worried, give them a ring in advance. Their customer service is awesome! Hope this helps.

Also, did you know that you can access some of the AG movies on YouTube. Some are a bit cheesy (really cheesy actually!) but my DD loves watching Saige and Kit as these are the dolls she has. Chrissa is also a nice movie with a good message for the kids.

Ohh thank you! I'll have to have check it out. We did watch the opening of the Orlando store on YouTube. She wants to get a doll, have the dolls ears pierced, and have something to eat. Every time she gets a few pounds she asks how much it'll be to spend in AG and puts it in her money box. I can see we'll be in there more than once! X

I was in there yesterday as I was asked by a work colleague to get the wheelchair and PJs for Grace. I got the PJs but they had sold out of the wheelchair. They even phoned around other stores to see if it could be shipped free of charge to our hotel but was told it wouldn't arrive by the time we were due to leave next week. Had my 10yr old grandson with me who was reluctant to even step foot inside... he couldn't believe it...he asked why on earth would a doll need a wheelchair or even a plaster caste... lol.

There was one due to open last fall. At premium outlets

as I saw the shop last June.. You might be able to just pick up the outfits & dolls there. I have an order to get some too.. For a very special little girl
