Best beach?
We're staying in Davenport and want a beach day! We've found out the two closest beaches are clear water of Daytona. Any recommendations?

Personally I'd head to the gulf coast and st Pete' sits a little further but in my opinion worth it.

So love Clearwater ...
Calm warm sea. Powder white sand that goes on forever, Dolphins. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Sunset celebration on pier 60 (lots of little stalls) Fire eaters on the beach. Lots of things to sea and do! Or just relax and enjoy the most amazing sunsets on the beach |

If you are there now I'd check the weather forecasts and factor that into your decision although the next week looks the same for both.
What do you want to do? Sunbathe, walk along the beach, boat trips,... ? |

It depends on what you seek in a beach.
Anna Maria Island has beautiful fine white sand and pleasant low rise, some distance behind it. It is relaxing and pleasant. Clearwater has the same white sand, but seems busier to me as it has larger buildings behind it. It really is a question of which you prefer. Bearing in mind where I live, then it is Holmes beach at Anna Maria every time. I don't like busy beaches. Imho neither will disappoint.

sarasota/siesta key. by far the most beautiful one i've been to on both coasts. (st augustine was also really good, but that was more about the town than the beach)
