DN I can only compare what we have to what we could get so I can't compare exact Like for Like as May isn't "open" yet but the figures are:

6th May Until 16th - Upgraded Pool view = £1410
Random AP discount
6th Oct - 16th Oct - standard room = £1450
So in theory I'm better off by approx £10/night if my booking was a standard- Netflights
Twice we have checked for RPR, in the first instance discount was only available on Upgraded rooms & was nearly £100/night more than a standard, second didn't even come close to what I could get buying from a UK seller.
As an aside, last year we waited to use our AP for BMG, we were quite happy to sit in Cat2 but discount only applied to higher cats so we ended up having to pay more than we could have if we bought from ATD for instance.

Iíve checked our dates and with the exchange rate fluctuation thereís not much in it for 2 nights at HRH compared to what we were paying with Hotwire on a Hot Rate.

Just as an after thought with the discounts, will all restaurants at the parks and city walk give AP discounts?

It depends on the AP. The website lists the perks for each.

Generally yes, canít think of anywhere weíve been that hasnít accepted it. for preferred passes and above. Some places at the resorts also offer discount but not all.

AP discounts on rooms are generally along the lines of 30%

Don't assume there will be a discount

And if there is a discount, don't assume it will really save you money
The discount may only be available on higher category rooms (views) and unless that's the kind of room you had planned to book, the "better" room with the discount may still be more expensive than the "standard" that was originally on plans.

If your stay is 6 nights or more, the "savvy traveler" rate will, most of the time, be cheaper than the AP rate. The AP rate rocks for stays from 1 to 3 nights, any stay longer than that may find better rates if booked in advance (the savvy rate used to be called "stay more save more" rate, whose name was more explicit as to its benefits)

so to make it simple, a passholder rate may not be available for your dates, if it is, it may not save you real money (absolute value), and it may not be the cheapest rate you can get.
it's a good bet if you're booking 3 months out, and missed out on the early booking rates

In case it has not been mentionned, APs do not get free parking at hotels.
