40 minutes is our maximum wait time.

This is a hard one to answer because

.. We've been over 15 times, when we first went for our once in a lifetime trip there were no FPs.. so we queued for everything ( 1989)

Following on a new ride I suppose if I really wanted to do it 60 minutes is my maximum. The rest 20/25. I'm entitled to a DAS pass so haven't really had issues on the past six visits

Do you think fast passes slow lines down, generally?

Generally 30 mins, unless it’s a new ride that we really wanted to try and then it would depend. We’d be willing to wait a fair bit for a new Star Wars ride, for instance.

No Limit for me, If it's a ride I want to go on I'll happily queue for however long it takes. My DH & DD won't queue any longer than 30 mins, So I've either got to go on as a single rider or find rides with a shorter wait time to go on with them.

I've queued for 3 hours before for SAW at Thorpe Park

I remember early on when Toy Story Mania opened the fast pass line was longer than the stand by line!

We go at rope drop, ride a headliner, ride 3 or 4 small rides, all under 15min... THEN ride FP+1, then eat, then FP+2 and 3 back to back. Book FP+4 if we can, ride a smaller ride... line 20min by now, then buy a minute maid lemon tub, join a queue for any ride we want to do but haven't... could be 45 min, could be 90 by this time of day. Spend the queue time resting, eating ice and chatting to people from all over the world. Then a show, for a decent sit down... then "home".

(We go at Easter and this tactic generally works)

Exactly this
I love all of the details in the Everest ride queue
You always miss a lot of the displays with FP on this ride

30 mins but if its something we really love that usually has crazy queues (Something like FOP) then 45 mins.

Luckily we utilise FP+ and never use the normal lines for anything really.

In 2019 I think it was Pooh Bear ride? wait time 15 minutes. FP queue really long

I'd have thought logically there must be a tipping point when FPs are not beneficial... I'm sure I read that somewhere
