Agreed; have done all of those except Chesterfield; nearly all in the last year due to our cancelled Florida trips; lovely places.
If visiting Hexham, add Corbridge on too!

Agreed; we did Bath last month; was lovely.
We also visited nearby Wells; the Bishops Palace & Gardens; stunning!
We also made our way to Clevedon for some sea air; the pier was a delight.

Or not quite as far north as Edinburgh; the Borders are lovely; we visited Peebles (wow, the chocolates at Cocoa Black; one of the top 5 chocolatiers in the world!) and stayed at the Peebles Hydro which I swear quite a few Disney hotels have stolen their look from; we also visited Kelso & Floors Castle, Montrose plus Jedburgh to visit the Abbey; stunning!

Yep you’re right!
We’ve been to both but Montrose was on our trip between Dundee & Aberdeen whilst it is indeed Melrose in the Borders.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. We're actually staying in chesterfield next weekend and visiting chatsworth house and the outdoor cinema event.

Will have a look into all of these places
