Car hire - 3 weeks - Oct/Nov 2016
Hi Dibbers
Just looking for reassurance about car hire prices. We plan to go in Oct/Nov this year and have flights booked into MCO 29th Oct, departing 19th Nov. Car hire seems so much more expensive than the last time we went 3 years ago. The best price I can find is for Alamo through Virgin Atlantic - it's coming in at £566 for a Standard SUV for 29/10/2016 - 19/11/2016. Does this seem about right? We booked through USRentacar 5 years ago (got a Nissan Altima which we didn't like) and Alamo Brits 3 years ago (Chevy Equinox) but they are coming up more expensive this time. Just not sure what to do really - should we go ahead and book through Virgin Atlantic, accepting this is the best price we are going to get? We are planning on doing quite a bit of driving around Florida and it's 2 adults and a 10 & 11 year old so we want a decent car. TIA! |

Same dates as us bar 1 day.
Seems a good price to me. Mine is through VA and is £713.24 but that for a Luxury.

A Mitsubishi Outlander with Alamo is coming up at £524 for your dates via Netflights, book through Quidco and go onto Netflights and get 6% back, so realistically you will be paying circa £499 for the two weeks. A good deal.

I'd book and keep checking for better prices.
I originally booked a mini-van in Dec 2015 for o holiday in Oct/Nov 2016. Now on my 3rd booking and have a full size SUV for a little bit more than my original. Prices are fluctuating so much across the different providers. |

Thanks everyone. I'm in Ireland so we can't use Quidco unfortunately. Think I just need to go for it and book the car!

I'm in Ireland too and going for 3 weeks 20/10-10/11 and booked a full size car two weeks ago for £497 with Andy @ discount florida car hire, it has already gone up in price.
Like you I was starting to panic about the rising prices |

Similar dates too but about 16/18n's i think - we got a hertz 'offer' through the .ie site and our luxury/premium is $510 so maybe around £360 - i thought they were higher than norm but have never been october before but knew this was a good deal when we saw it.
