Mobile Universal marvel characters

Hey dibbers,

We go to Orlando next week, it’s our first trip with our 2 year old and I cannot wait.
We booked it last year and just booked to do Disney parks as didn’t think there was much at universal for a toddler...

However, my DD has some how gained an obsession for marvel characters! I have spent months trying to teach her Disney characters which she takes no notice of but somehow knows Spider-Man, the hulk, iron man and the green goblin... who she refers to as Pom Pom! 🤣

Anyway, I have no idea about universal character meets. Do they have times like they do at Disney? If we pay the extra money to get into universal are we likely to see the characters?

It’s quite abit extra in terms of cost so want to make it worth it!

Thx

Oh bless her, my 17 yo DD just laughed at pom pom 😀.

We saw lots of Marvel characters in the Superhero Island part of IOA last year. But they do not have specific meet and greets, just pop out for informal meets. We were there for 4 days and saw some most days but on the Saturday, Superhero Island had LOADS of them out. Queues to meet aren't as long as Disney either and the interaction is brilliant. My DD had a really long, amusing chat with Wolverine, he made her holiday 😀

There is also a Superhero character meal available in IOA which would need booking if you wanted to do this. Sadly this wasn't available when we were there so I don't know how good this is, but there must be reviews online.

It is expensive to get Universal tickets too, and lots of the rides wouldn't be suitable for your DD so you should check it out first. Although Dr Seuss area is brilliant and lots of characters to meet there too.

Thanks so much for replying.

It’s so tough to know whether to spend the money... part of me feels like we are going all that way we might as well do it!

Spidey has a permanant meet and greet opposite his ride, as said above the others (mostly Xmen) pop in and out around the Superhero area. The upside is there's rarely much of a wait to meet them, the downside is that its all pot luck as to who's there.

They now do a superhero character dining experience as well which is a more guaranteed way to meet them!

So we can quite likely meet Spider-Man and Pom Pom from the look of things but what about the hulk and iron man ? I don’t see them mentioned on the website?

I thought we saw Hulk? But I will check with DD later and get back to you. She will remember all the ones we saw 😊

I'm afraid you can't meet Hulk and Iron Man. I think years ago you could meet Hulk but not any more.
