Going 23 Aug 2019-opinions please

We have booked 8 days going 23 Aug 2019 (at an OK price) and have just found out about Star Wars opening on 29th August. We are staying at Comfort Suites Mainsgate East and have never stayed anywhere but in a villa before. Had planned to do MNSHHP whilst there but haven’t booked tickets for anything.
Our youngest daughter has severe learning difficulties and mobility issues (in a wheelchair) and now I’m panicking - is it going to be horrendously busy everywhere I can either cancel or move my holiday with Virgin (but then I’m paying a lot more to move to next year).
Just wondered what opinions were as I’m so confused as to what to do for the best. Thanks.

I think it will depend on how it opens. For Disneyland you have to register upfront to get into the land so far the first 3 weeks you have to have one of the limited entities. If WDW do the same this may well not be too bad but will make other parks a little busier I would expect. The last week of August is quiet in comparison to the rest of the summer as alot of US schools are back by then.

Scrap that...just read you won't need a reservation for WDW but capacity will be limited!

having the exact same thoughts this morning...we go august 22nd for 16 nights, so star wars opens smack bang in the middle of our stay! There's a small part of me excited that we'll be able to see it, but neither me, my wife, or our kids are massive star wars fans so i think we'd rather have quieter parks over seeing the new star wars land!
Following this thread closely to see what people think about how much it may effect not only HS but the other parks.
Would be interested to hear from anyone that maybe visited around June last year when Toy Story Land opened and what that was like? I know the queues for the new rides were astranomical, but did it have a huge effect on the other parks?
Thanks

Side note, we LOVE that place. This year is our first year staying on site but we've always stayed a the comfort suites in the past! Just love the location / rooms and of course the breakfast!

We spent a night there before our flight home last month, it was great as you say the location is great and liked the pool being open 24/7 and the breakfast was better than anything we had at Disney. Wish we had stayed longer to explore that area and the Old Town complex.

I agree, stayed there in 2015 and it was perfect for us. Great location, clean, lovely pool and friendly staff.
