Mobile Santa Fe or Cheyenne?

Hello all!

We are a family of 5 (age 5, 6 & 8) and are booking up for our first Disney trip this Christmas 😍

I was automatically searching for rooms to sleep 5, so only choices were DLH, Newport & DCR. After reading a comment about taking 2 rooms I’ve had a look and we can potentially save £1000 (! ) by taking 2 rooms at either the Cheyenne or the Santa Fe, compared to our previous choice of the Newport Bay! It seems to be a combination of a cheaper hotel and cheaper meal package (we had to go for plus in NB, but would opt for standard given the choice as I think buffets would suit us more anyway).

So... has anyone been lately who can give a shout out on which of the hotels they would choose? There’s a £300 price difference (Cheyenne more, poss as I chose higher spec rooms? ) but that’s still £700 less than Newport so I’m open to either!

Many thanks!

Oh, if it makes any difference we are going 26-30th December

they are the same distance from the parks, situated just over a little walkbridge from each other. Same facilities can be found in both hotels. Cheyenne has been more recently refurbed in the rooms. So it really depends which theme you like best.

One difference in the rooms now is the Santa Fe still has the normal standard for DLP onsite rooms ie 2 double beds. Cheyenne has one double bed, one single bed, and a roll-out day bed in each room. So, in your case, if you have 2 people in one room and 3 in another, the Cheyenne could possibly give you a bit more floor space in your rooms (ie no need to roll out the day bed).

Have you checked the French and German offers?
France has 35% off and free under 12s, Germany has 25% off and free half board with breakfast at the hotel.

I prefer the Cheyenne as it is more recently refurbished. I love the toy story themed rooms more than cars. I think the layout of the Cheyenne is nicer and I like the bar/check in more as it feels more themed. They are all minor things, I’m not sure I’d pay an extra £300 but I would always pick Cheyenne.

I had checked them for family rooms, and it wasn't any cheaper, but just checked for 2 seperate rooms and now it's giving me 35% off and free child spaces... MASSIVE savings! Thank you so much!

We’ve stayed in both and I’d pick the Cheyenne for a first trip. We stayed there before the refurb and still liked it much better than Santa Fe. Unless your children are Cars-mad, then the theming is better and much more immersive at the Cheyenne.

We only chose Santa Fe for our last trip because it was a budget trip after we’d stayed in the DLH a few months previously, so we were happy to go for the cheapest on site hotel. We do like the food in the La Cantina buffet though - we’ve eaten there while staying in both the Cheyenne and Santa Fe, as it’s close to both, and really enjoyed it.

Like you, we’re happier with the standard meal plan than we would be with plus. We’ve eaten in a few plus level restaurants, but our favourite restaurants (apart from character dining) are the standard buffets, so plus level would be wasted on us!

Using the French site I'm getting the Cheyenne coming out £1 cheaper than the UK site is for the Santa Fe, so I think that's justifiable? It's a shame the 35% reduction isn't working on the Newport as that would have made it a fabulous deal. It's only the DLH and DCR though.

Anyway, I'm saving so much money comared to this time yesterday that I think we may be able to book today!

My findings for 26th - 30th Dec

1 Room
UK Site- NPB with half board plus £3476

French Site- NPB with half board plus E4732 = £4246

2 rooms -
UK site-
Santa Fe & 1/2b std £1235.28 + £1506.68 = £2741.93
Cheyenne & 1/2b std £1627.68 + 1356.28 = £2983.96

French site-
Santa Fe & 1/2b std E1454.26 + 1342.26 = 2796.52 = £2509.88
Cheyenne & 1/2b std E1582.96 + 1470.96 = 3053.92 = £2740.90

I think they Cheyenne is the most well themed of any Disney hotel we have stayed in. It looks amazing.

I really like both but as Cheyenne is newly renovated I would choose that over Santa Fe now.
