France banning all travel to and from the UK this Saturday...

Eeeekkk so glad I cancelled now..

You won't be allowed to travel into France without compelling reasons IE a death in the family etc...

We’re due to go tomorrow lunchtime - are we getting in just in time?

You will be stuck there as flights will cancel, why would they still operate when almost empty? I wouldn’t be going.

Hi.

I have corrected the title as it is from Saturday and it's both ways so I am guessing it depends on how long your trip is...

We're driving via Eurotunnel and due to come back Wednesday 22nd.

When you say 'both ways' how could the French government add extra restrictions on returning to the UK?

I have no idea but it is what they were saying on the news...

Taken from the article I linked to above...

"From Saturday morning, France is barring travel to and from Britain without "compelling reasons". "

I think we're fine getting back to the UK as one of the Compelling Reasons is "Ressortissant étranger rejoignant son pays" / "Foreign national joining their country."

Not sure it will be almost empty because other European countries are allowed access and so are the French.
I agree, however, that flights will likely be cancelled

France can’t stop you entering your country of nationality.
