Any car hire experts that can help?
As our cruise has now been cancelled I need to sort out our car hire as it’s no longer suitable. Hoping someone can help me out with some advice.
We currently have the following booked: 14 days Alamo brits full-size from Tampa to Port Canaveral £401 1 day DFCH int suv from Port Canaveral to Tampa £46 We now need: 21 days Tampa pick up and collection Alamo brits full-size is now £715 DFCH Alamo full-size is £696 Is the best option just to cancel everything or would I be allowed to return the car we have booked to a different location given that Port Canaveral is closed (the Alamo site is showing closed into September) I’ve tried to get prices to collect a car for a week from Disney car care and Dolphin but they’re also showing as closed for our collection date, 15/8 What would you do? |

I would ditch both and go with Auto Europe. £689.
Your dates are problematic. If you hired on the 17th it would be £200 cheaper! I assume when you say full size you mean a saloon not an SUV as that matches what Andy is quoting. However if you didn't mind getting the car from Tampa, keep it 2 days and swap it out at MCO then I can see it for £541!

Keep your first rental and return to DCCC on 15th August. You'll just need to place a second 7 day booking to coincide with the return of your first rental. As the DCCC is tempoarily closed, the locaiton isn't accepting any new bookings so you'll need to book the vehicle as MCO pickup. The DCCC staff will be able to bring the reservation across to their location when you return/check out the vehicle again.
I'll always try to beat/match other prices. |

They won't charge you for collecting / returning to a different location than whats originally booked (with the exception of if you collect at Cape Canaveral and return to a different office - Alamo charge a $50 one way rental fee).
Do you want to send me an email with your dates and I'll see if I can get a better single booking price or if not, look at the 1 week to conincide with the end of your Brits booking. andy@discountfloridacarhire.co.uk |
