GATORLAND - Love it or hate it?

we went in 2001 and it is on our list of things to do next month. It is an easy half a day outing and I think my young daughter will love it.

I must say I would never ever feed or pay for Gators to have Hot Dogs... surely that isn't a great diet for them... is it. ?
That must be a new thing... and we most definitely wont be participating.

My husband loved it he loves gators but hates the way they treated them! but i didnt really like it and have banned it from this years trip

Thanks for this post,we were thinking of this for a half a day visit,but after reading how unpleasent so many people have found it,we will give it a miss.So many other great things to do.

We have been a few times over the years and always enjoy it.

Never wanted to go and haven't in 7 trips to the area. I have seen crocodiles in the wild in Australia and alligators in Florida on a balloon trip going over golf courses and in the Everglades. No desire to see them in captivity.

Mind you I don't like seeing any animal in captivity - I can justify some places to myself, but not Gatorland. It seems way too 'touristy' as well?

Have been trying to get there for the last couple of trips but never made it.

Still like to get there in September, but I don't think my partner will be up for it if she reads some of these very honest ( and helpful ) comments

If I remember rightly from our last trip to Gatorland in 2007, they are turkey sausages as opposed to hot dogs out of a tin.

We are another family who really enjoys and afternoon at Gatorland - not a must do every trip but we have been a couple of times and would certainly go again.

We have been once before in 2005 and found it an enjoyable and leisurely 1/2 day out.

We didn't go last time (2008) but DS12 included it in as a park he would really like to go to when we did our list for what we want to do this year - and that came out above the Magic Kingdom, so it must have something going for it (or have I got a very strange 12 year old?)
