We did the same last year (3 days NYC first) and didn't find time for more than a quick dash into shops as we had so much we wanted to see. We did loads of shopping in Orlando though and noticed it was cheaper.
We also had FAO Schwartz on our list and were gutted that it had closed!

I love shopping in NYC!
I find it just as good as Orlando - you must go to Macys. It's the flagship store and across 10 levels! Incredible place and tons of bargains to be had. There's also a Designer Shoe Warehouse further along on the same street which is MUCH bigger than the Orlando one, it's brilliant.

Like another poster said, I would personally avoid Century 21, it's a horrible place, definitely more jumble sale! (Nothing at all like a department store imo). I spent 30mins in there and couldn't stand it.

Not sure if I'll be able to stop the girls shopping in NYC but will try if I know it's going to be cheaper in Florida
I believe the tax is higher in NY so most of our stuff will be bought in Florida

We went a couple of years ago and got good bargains in Macy's, Century 21 was also fine when we were there ( think I brought 4 handbags in there &#128522.

So sad to hear FAO Schwartz is closed, I loved it in there, especially the big floor piano from the film Big! 😞

You definitely get more for your money in Florida than you do in New York. Sales Tax is also cheaper in Florida which keeps the price down.

Normally that is correct. However, there a few things to consider.
1. Clothes bought in NYC do not have any sales tax. The price you see is the price you pay.
2. The best way to get your money's worth is to buy an item from an out of state store like Bphotovideo and have them ship it to Florida. Items bought from a store that has no presence in Florida are not taxed.
