I got the iPhone X this week and I love it so personally if I was you i’d suggest going for that over the 8, the camera is better! I also took advantage of apples upgrade programme. You pay per month for the phone (like a normal contract) but it’s 0% APR so you are only paying for the phone. You get AppleCare included in that. Then after 12 months if they bring out a new phone you can take yours in and swap it for the new one otherwise after 20 months it’s all yours if you keep the original! It means we can have a super cheap sim only deal and worked out really good for us! I LOVE the X!

I’d really recommend it. We weren’t planning to do it and had in fact gone in for a battery replacement on my partner’s 6. They explained it to us, no hard sell at all and it just seemed really good. I would definitely do it through apple again rather than a network. The added benefit of AppleCare is great!

Yes, I was looking at that online and had a chat with them and the guy explained the two options for payment plans I need to go in store though to see the colour options. Did you trade in an old phone for credit or anything?

Our last 2 phones have been on the Apple plan (not upgrade program) and it works for us. Their warranty is pretty good and the phones come unlocked too. Having an Apple Store close to us is a bonus.

Over the course of a contract I’ve worked out that it is the cheaper way of doing it for us by quite a significant amount.

I didn’t as I can get more selling it elsewhere

Not sure whether this will help the OP or not but Apple will replace out of warranty batteries for £25 (or $29) until the end of the year, applies to iphone 6 onwards.
