What is the earliest flight you would book after a cruise?
We are struggling for flights for October but if we go home the day we get off the ship we can get a decent price.
The only problem is the flight leaves at 1pm. Is that too early? I like to be at the airport in plenty time and I think we will be there with tons of time to spare but I am doubting myself.

Is it DCL from Port C? How will you get from the ship to the airport? Which airport is it? If it is DCL from PC and you are driving you can get off the cruise about 8am if it docks on time but you then need to go through customs. Is 2 hrs enough from cruise to the airport?. Presuming you need to be st the airport 3 hrs before. We never fly home on the same day. Always stay a few extra in Orlando but lots of people do go straight home. We just don't dance getting off the boat after being woken up really early to then do a night flight.

Dcl and mco. Using cruise transfers. We got the first bus out to wdw last year but I cannot remember what time it was.
We hadn't planned on going straight home, we actually have accommodation booked after the cruise but sliding everything two days is saving us 300+ per person Edited at 05:38 PM. |

In my experience we are usually off the ship at around 8am so plenty of time but we use a private transfer. The coach may be your sticking point?
Is a private transfer an option? Will obviously cost more but nothing like £600. You could also be off the ship even earlier if you want to take your own luggage. Not sure if this is possible with DCL as we always cruise RCI. |

I booked a flight at 10.55am (different port though) and was worried, but was at the airport very early!

We always take our own luggage and I think you actualy have to if you are on dcl bus.
If you are on DCL bus you cannot go to the breakfast on the last morning I went back and checked my Vlog for last year and we were on the bus before 8am back to the resort Edited by Joa: Every guest can go to breakfast on any morning, including the last. This is discussed later in this thread.

Sounds like you'll be starving by the time you get to MCO but otherwise do-able then.
Quite odd as cruises are so much about the food that there is no provision for food when using Disney's own transfer. Edited at 01:08 PM. |
