Placeholder and US TA
If we have a placeholder can we still book using a US agent? If we can do we get both the Disney on board credit and whatever the is agent offering. Are there any risks booking with a US TA as opposed to booking with Disney direct? We have always booked direct and not really sure how it works. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks all

You can transfer a placeholder to a TA but I believe you only have 2 weeks from when you book the placeholder itself to do so in order to get the incentive from the TA. After the 2 weeks my understanding is they don't actually get commission and therefore don't give anything back. I would be inclined to check with the TA you are looking at to confirm this asap

Thank you for your reply. We booked our placeholder on Friday so need to sort something out now I guess Are there any risks involved in using an agent rather than
booking direct?

The risk is that you're paying in dollars so you are at the mercy of the exchange rate. I guess a risk as well is that US TAs are not covered by ATOL/ABTA or whatever else UK ones are. For me, it's not a big deal as I'm booking DCL with them and they (DCL) are not likely to go out of business any time soon.
Our TA pays directly to DCL, so they do not hold any of our money for 1 minute. I do not know if this happens with every TA ok, so it may be prudent to check first. Hope that helps Joa
