We're doing a trip to Tokyo in May which sounds a lot like your previous trip. How far in advance did you need to book the Viator tours and do you think they are worth doing or would it be easy to get ourselves to Mt Fuji and on the bullet train? I don't do boats well but all the organised day trips I can find seem to include the Lake Ashi cruise.
