We have stayed at both the Pink Shell and also Edison Beach House. Lovely for a few days.

It’s great. We prefer to stay a bit further along on Bonita. Quieter but not far to drive there along the coastal road.

Love Fort Myers beach, we rented a villa on a canal about the middle of the island, the beach was beautiful, saw so much wildlife, rays, dolphins, manatees, ospreys catching their dinner. The north end of the beach had parasailing and jet ski’s, so there is still plenty to do if you don’t just want to sit quietly on the sand. Lovers key beach, Captiva and Sanibel were other lovely places we visited whilst there.

We remember seeing lots of roseate spoonbills on the beach at FMB.

I’ve stayed a few times at Lover’s Key Resort (used to know marketing manager Roman at the hotel chain who used to give me good deals but that was years ago). Roman also used to deal with Gull Wing, also Bellasara Naples and Park Shore (where I’ve stayed) and some others. I got to know Roman when I met a fella on the ferry when importing an Alfa Romeo from Dublin and he referred me - long story! Great hotels all of them.

I was looking at Edison. Not exactly cheap but definitely appears to be a great location….

Does anybody have any thoughts, experiences etc of Fort Myers Beach for 2-3 nights?

Seems like it could be a nice and relaxed start before heading to Orlando given we would be looking to fly into Tampa or Miami.
Not been to Fort Myers, but, if you're flying into Tampa, have a look at Anna Maria Island. We've been going 12 years now, it's stunning, a real gem 💎

There are a few trippies that include AMI , I can definitely recommend Scottishnellies if you decide to investigate 😉

We priced up for 3 days next May and thought it was cheap compared to our first choice which was the a Sandpearl in Clearwater which seems to have quadrupled its prices since our last trip a few years ago!
