Help with flights
Morning All,
Always flown direct before and been happy with the price I have paid, however this year direct seems like the impossible dream. Having never done indirect before I am now looking at out outbound flight with 2 changes and return with 1 change, this will take £3K of the cost of the holiday if we went direct. Does this sound achievable 06.40 - 08.05 - Heathrow to Dublin 11.15 - 13.55 - Dublin to Philadelphia 15.20 - 18.02 - Philadelphia to Tampa Would then drive up to Orlando after this. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Well it is a big saving that would go a long way towards the rest of the holiday, but the travel does sound a chore..
What month are you going? If later in the year, I think I would be inclined to wait and watch prices for a bit longer. Edited at 08:27 AM. |

It sounds fine as long as your Heathrow leg isn't delayed. You'll clear immigration at Dublin so PHL will just be a domestic gate change.
However, I think you should be able to find a 1 change flight for a similar price. How many people and what cabin class? Is flying into Tampa a requirement or just hoping to save over MCO? |

It is 2 adults and 1 x 16 year old, we are staying as St. Petes beach area for the last 6 days of our holiday, our original plan was to fly into MCO and home from TPA but that is working out even dearer
Just doing Economy Class

Agree with Claudette, I can see plenty of cheap flights on those dates - although not direct for £600. I'd say it's probably the car hire that's causing the huge swing in the price, as it's probably cheaper from TPA compared to MCO. I would take car hire out of the package and see what you get, then price car hire directly from Andy at DFCH.

I agree with the above post. We originally had flights booked from LHR to Miami (2adults 2kids.) The car hire cost from Miami was $$$$$$ and we looked into many different options-all of these options were turning into a headache.
Last weekend I was looking on BA and found flights from LHR to Tampa. These worked out at £2600 for all of us. The price includes a night in Tampa. I've booked the car through Andy and he managed to get us s good deal by collecting outside of Tampa Airport. Booking through Andy also gives us the option to re-book the car hire if the prices start to drop. These flights are for the end of July for 4 weeks. My flights are not direct. We fly LHR to Miami, Miami - Tampa. On the return leg it's: Tampa to Miami, Miami-LHR. |
