spending money
Hey guys,
Me and my wife are going to orlando for 10 nights on the 5th December, We will be doing the disney and universal parks. I am just wondering what the average daily spending money is for the parks nowadays, We do not usually spend a lot on buying gifts etc but will be eating in the parks throughout the day. Would you say $100 per day? Thanks Jack |

Where are you staying, is breakfast included? Will you be doing table service meals for dinner? A grand is doable but if you want a few nicer sit-down meals I'd bring 1,500.

It's a how long is a piece of string question.
Assuming just eating quick service and all meals on-site, I think you'd need the $100 just for food between you. You could potentially cut this by preparing breakfast in the room (can even pack cereal in your case and just buy milk from the resort shop) or sharing meals, but I'd say $50pp is a comfortable budget for quick service. I'm budgeting closer to $30 but that does involve cut backs. Mainly no drinks and lots of kids meals. So then you'd need to add on any extra money for souvenirs, table service meals, tips, etc. |

Hey I found something out as I get older. The older you are the less food you eat. We found, on our last visit 2 years ago that we were only having one main meal per day. We were just snacking the rest of the time. So if we got a large pasta or burger or steak meal for lunch we would only get snacks from Publix for the hotel later on. Same if we planned a meal out at night we would only pick through the day to save room for our dinner. Funny that 😊

I’ve pencilled a budget into our planning. But, fundamentally I am planning to try and save as much as is possible to the point at which the budget is irrelevant.
That way (like we did with DLP 2020) we can arrive with the philosophy of if you want it you buy it, no question of how much etc!

we plan on $200 per day for 4 of us. This is with us sourcing our own breakfast and snacks - I intend on doing a "junk grocery shop". Staying onsite so no fridge to speak of, so we will be doing prepacked pastries, breads, cereal with milk bought onsite.
Some days we will have QS some days TS. |

Everyone’s budget is different, it’s doable on $100 a day but it doesn’t go far, Disney in particular have raised prices of food and drinks a couple times since the start of the panademic, I buy a toaster from Walmart and use that for toast for breakfast then rest of days is snacks and a nice evening meal so id go for around $200 a day for the two of us thought again what works for one family won’t for another family

It’s tricky but doable? Resist the merchandise where you can, it is expensive and can blow the budget easily. Lots of the restaurants have menus online and it’s well worth researching what they offer, particularly the counter service restaurants at Disney. There’s lots more than just burgers and chips on offer if you look around and there’s also simple things like asking the counter service restaurants to top up water bottles rather than paying for more expensive drinks. On the other hand, it easy to run up the spending - a latte and breakfast roll at Starbucks is usually more than $10 per person…

We have done it on $100. Check the restaurants and Diners for vouchers. First Watch do BOGOF vouchers, used my and DH' e-mail addresses for this and for Culvers who also do BOGOF. It is possible to eat on a budget in the Parks, check the menus. We shared a salad and a portion of fries. quite substantial. WaWa have a good selection of subs as do Subway. Also managed a good sit down
Meal offsite during the week!
