Another vote for the Mandarin Oriental, After all the noise and crazyness of the "resort/casino" hotels you suddenly realise that these 4,000+ room fruit machines are really not that great. How can a hotel be rated as 4 or 5 stars when you have to queue to check in (or check out)?
Then you walk into the MO. It's quiet, sophistcated and luxurious and more importantly its just a hotel, no casino, no theatres, no crazy bars and nightclubs. So after a great night out visiting all the other establishments you come back to an oasis where you can recharge your batteries ready for the next day. Not cheap by any means but the best never is. We stayed in a strip view suite in May and when we go back we won't stay anywhere else. Oh and in my view May/June is the best time to go - hot but it's dry so perfectly bearable. Hi,
We have stayed in Vegas twice. First time at the Luxor great room fun hotel. Second at the Strat £13 per night, we got a great room too. This time we have a Suite at The Cosmopolitan and I can't wait to try it out |

Stayed at the Bellagio in a room at the front overlooking the fountains. Wonderful hotel, and as egg said earlier, I have never slept in a bed quite so comfortable or with such wonderful pillows!
My dilemma is that we had such an amazing stay here, I wouldn't want to be disappointed by staying elsewhere, so when , definitely not an if , we go back, I really don't know where we would stay. The Aria was just being built and have heard good reviews about it, but also quite like the sound of the Wynn or the Encore perhaps. Mandarin Oriental sounds amazing from what people have written on this thread, but possibly a bit out of my league! To be honest it would probably have to be Bellagio again for me. My brother is in Vegas at the moment and is staying at the Mirage. He texted earlier to say the temp was 44 degrees - now that is hot! Edited at 08:08 PM. |

Stayed at the MGM Grand first time we ever went and thought it was great.
Went a couple of years ago and stayed at the Bellagio which was fantastic. If we went again we'd love to stay at the Wynn. Think I'll go and google the Mandarin Oriental now - sounds amazing ! |

Only been once and stayed at the Luxor, loved it! However we are planning to again for DH 40th birthday and really would like to stay at the Bellagio, read someone elses pos who said it was excellent. Am interested in the places people have stayed and why they like it, my DH wanted to stay in New York New York. Not sure whe to go as DH b'day is in Feb (a few year away) and last time we went was August, and sooo hot!

We like the Paris as it is half way along the strip and opposite the Bellagio fountains.

We are potentially looking at September and although I would love to stay at a Palazzo, Wynn or Aria, it is difficult to look beyond £158 for 6 nights in the Excalibur with a free upgrade to a Widescreen Room.
We have stayed at the Excalibur before. It was fun, we had some great wins on the 25c slots (so much so the wins paid for our entire stay in Vegas and two nights in Denver our next destination). Sure there are better hotels out there, but how long do you spend in your room in Vegas? It the Excalibur deal wasn't so tempting (especially with the upgrade to a Widescreen Room) I would be looking at the MGM again. My favourite hotel in Vegas. Nothing gets close to the service, which is astonishing if you think there are 5000+ rooms, and the standard rooms can be had for $49 a night Sunday-Thursday especially during the hotter months. As for others. Luxor was the place in the late 90's early 00's and the inclinators are still a nice quirk, but prices are more than Excalibur and compared to a Widescreen Room the Pyramid Rooms in Luxor don't match up. NYNY rooms are tiny. Last time I went they had made over the slot area and completely lost the theme, which is a shame as it was undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, themed hotels in Vegas. I have been in a Bellagio and Mirage room but never stayed. Bellagio is overhyped and the rooms are nothing special especially at the prices charged. Mirage rooms have been refurbished and are nice and I like the vibe there, but again prices can be huge. I did have a $77 rate last year which was the best I have seen for a while but had to cancel. For value, service and location (we love the Tropicana Intersection area of the Strip) it would have to be the MGM. Just try and avoid a Saturday night... |

A Different One every time
Been to vegas 4 times and it is my aim to stay in every strip hotel before i pop my cloggs...so i tend to pick the ones which i think will not last much longer...i've stayed at the Stardust (gone now but fabulous hotel)... the Sahara (tatty)... the Riviera (quite nice but a bit far down the strip) and as a treat..the year we got married..The MIRAGE by far my favourite so far
