Which would you chose for a day out please or is there anywhere else you would recommend thanks x

Both are lovely places but I think St augustine has more to see ,although it may be further to travel.

St Augustine, much more to do than Mt Dora, which is a couple of hours type place. Absolutely no comparison between the two.

Another vote for St. Augustine, as there is much more to see and do, but it is a longer drive.

As OPs say they are every different, but both are well worth a visit. St Ag is very much a full day (especially with the drive), whereas Mt Dora can be a late morning start, lunch, walkabout type place (unless you take in the lake tour).

If you have time do both.
