August 2021 Planning - Will we get there?

I had my second jab yesterday (astra - however im 29) and i was so so ill with the first one , fever, aches and a migraine but nothing more than a sore/heavy arm today 🤞🏻

Yep we’re all doubled jabbed apart from Dd14 now. I felt quite rough with both(Pfizer) but I do have a system that’s easily irritated.
With all the rumours about late July now I’m feeling renewed hope and excitement

We have just put in holidays for September on the off chance we can get flights to somewhere in the states. We will both be fully vaccinated by mid July I think. Fingers crossed.

I'm still trying to work out why the talk is of End July. It should be end of June based on the figures. Why wait?

End June would suit me cos I really don't want to be a trailblazer! Let someone else do that

There's a tenuous link floating around that goes something like Biden, Irish, Irish want to reopen on 19th July therefore that seems to have stuck.

Who knows what level of truth vs speculation is involved.

I believe it really is getting close to being announced but not sure I buy the Irish link.

I seen someone mention that ireland are a bit behind the rest of the UK with regards to vaccines which may be why they’re saying a bit later...

But as with everything at the moment... who the hell knows 🤣

I think Ireland have said 19th for when they will allow flights to other countries. There isn't anything to suggest this is the date Biden will allow travel to the US.

Edit to say I really hope we are allowed in the US from early July.

There’s a Twitter user who says he’s involved in government briefings (US government I think) who keeps insisting the plans for reopening are late June to mid July.
Personally I have to decide by 28 June if we are keeping our villa booking. If nothing is announced by then, I could book a suite or something elsewhere and hang on until the flight payment is due which I think is 27 July.
