Virginia bound!

Hi everyone,

So my OH and I had some good news today - we are both hopefully posted to Norfolk, Virginia for 3 whole years as of May next year!

Got a few more things to sort before it’s confirmed but it’s looking very positive.

Soooo - anyone visited that part of the states and got some recommendations to offer?

I’m going to compile a list of all the places we need to visit so we can make the most of our time there. Myrtle Beach and Charleston are definitely towards the top of the list!

Awesome. I’m sure you will love it. I went there a lot but it was in the late 1970’s so I’m no use to you sadly!

Thanks Mr T! It seems an extreme way to get around the border closures 😂😂 we’ve been talking about it for a few years but getting the planets to align for two serving personnel in different branches is no easy task 😂

Ahh I thought it had to be Military. Best fish restaurant I ever ate at was one that was recommended by the US Navy personnel after I had done a tour of one of their Carriers from the Atlantic Fleet.
It was the size of a Gym, wide open, hundreds of diners, mostly Navy and awesome. I can still taste that Snapper.

I must have driven the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel 10 times and never got bored with it.

I can recommend a trip to the Outer Banks, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills where the Wright Bros flew. Also Okracoke Island by ferry

Oh amazing! I would love to pick your brains on where to live if that choice isn’t taken out of our hands like it sometimes is 😂

We’ll definitely have to visit Kill Devil Hills - we’re both in the RAF so it’s kind of a rite of passage 😂

You'll be within easy driving distance of Gettysburg - we did a full day tour from Washington when on hols there in 2018, cracking day out.
