How long now...

So we had offer accepted on house 11 May, the searches were instructed to go ahead 14 May, survey is complete and mortgage is in place. We currently rent and seller has moved out.
How long would you expect completion to be? Im itching for a date!

Hmm well we are just waiting for confirmation of our exchange completion dates.
Its been really slow. It could be as quick as a fortnight after the searches come back. But ours has been slow (for no real reason)

We’re looking at exchange 5 weeks after searches back, and completion 7 weeks. That’s if it doesn’t get delayed again

I think you're in for a bit of a wait sorry!
We had our offer accepted in February. They've moved out so the property is empty, everything is done mortgage wise, searches complete etc... still don't have a date.

We are also selling ours which I realise may lengthen the process but they are currently living with family and again all searches and mortgage stuff is complete.

We were hoping end of May which obviously hasn't happened, we're hopeful we'll be in by the end of June now.

So whats the hold up? Our sellers been told hopefully be complete mid july at latest, we both pushing all the time.

Searched can take weeks/months depending on the area and backlog. I did 2 last year - one took over 3 months for searched the other just 4 weeks. Lincolnshire was a lot slower than London at the time

OMG i was told 2-3 weeks (im in North East) be 3 weeks this Friday.

I’m NW and the searches took about 10 days. It’s just taken so long. We are only a 2 house 3 party chain.

Why still looking? Has she applied for survey etc?
Im expecting to be all complete 8 weeks (hope not disappointed)

I'd give them a month maybe but if they seriously want to move they should be moving into rented to allow your DD to complete

Speak to the estate agent and keep looking at other properties just in case.
