Southern California - 2019 4 Warner Bros. Studio Tour
I’ve been an absolute failure with this trip report and nearly 2 years on I can’t find my trip notes. So … I’m going to continue with some photos and things I remember. Sorry the next entries will be very brief, but I hope you enjoy the photos.
Southern California - 2019 4 Warner Bros. Studio Tour Today was our final day in LA. We breakfasted at our hotel and then checked out of our room. I really liked this hotel. Best Western Plus Media Center in Burbank. We left our car in the underground car park at the hotel and made the short walk to the Warner Bros. Studio where we had a tour booked. It was a really good tour in a van of about 16 people. We drove to sets and the driver/guide gave us lots of info. Even not knowing most of the shows we found it good. Every so often we would stop and get out to enter studios, sets or exhibitions and half way round there was a comfort stop. At the end of the tour was a long line if you wanted to have a photo (extra charge) on the Friends sofa so we just had a peek from afar and then had a quick sandwich lunch at the adjoining café. We also spent a little time in the gift shop and were both amused and frustrated that the Harry Potter souvenirs all had “Warner Bros. Studios London” labels so not a good gift to take back home. (To be fair we’d already stocked up on Harry Potter stuff at US so not really a problem.) After lunch we started our drive to Palm Springs where we were spending the next two nights at the Hilton Garden Rancho Mirage. We loved the dramatic change in scenery and were amazed by the huge wind turbine farms we passed on the way. I was a little shocked when we got out of the air conditioned car as I had never experienced such dry heat before. 42˚C and I could feel my lips drying out just as we were standing to take to suitcases out of the boot. It was a nice hotel and we ate (I think) at the Old Spaghetti House which was just across the road. |
