Covid flight vouchers

I have two miles plus money flights booked for September which may or may not go ahead at this point. One way tickets, one with BA and return with VA.

If we dont go but the flights are still going, and we ask to transfer to next year, does the flight class have to remain the same?

We are booked business class this year and with the crazy prices for next year I don't want to be left with ridiculous price increases. Has anyone been in this boat and can explain the options?

With BA it does not. They apply the value of the voucher to your new flights, in which ever class you want, and you just pay the remaining amount.

I think Virgin works the same but not 100% sure.
