CM thank you gifts - ideas?

This year for the first time, we are trying to put together a bunch of little bags to give out to CMs who go the extra mile.
I know a lot of Dibbers do this and I want to ask -
What do you put in the bag? I have bought small organza bags from ebay (like the ones sometimes used for wedding favours), and so far have ordered small packets of Love Hearts, and Fruit Salad/Black Jacks to pop in.
I'd appreciate any ideas you have please?

We always give our favourite server at Tusker House some Hotel Chocolates. He has to share them with his wife though.

What a lovely idea, DD will be a Cast Member from Nov and I know she would be delighted to receive something like this.

The mini packs of jelly babies for sure. I'd say Cadbury's but obviously the heat won't do it well.

Parma violets (ha), drumsticks, but defo the little packs for jelly babies!

ETA: Just tried to find a link for the mini jelly babies but they don't seem to do them anymore.

A thank you message to guest relations about the CM or a tweet is also a good gift as disney do log it on the resources profile.

A lot of people give CM's gifts, plus to house keeping etc, but as per policy CM's should not accept and they should be passed to management for assessment / disposal. All comes under the Gifts and Anti-corruption Compliance policy.

If you google it, you will see many cast members voicing their opinion on this subject or read the Disney Standards of Business Conduct.

Most appreciated would be small packets of cash. These folks don’t get paid much.

My son is friend with two previous CMs that did two seasons, staying in staff accom. So it was nearly all their time was Disney oriented. They used to get small gifts of appreciation from visitors, the most being Disney oriented. In the end they used to bin the sweets and suchlike as they didn’t need reminded thar Disney basically owned them for the summer. Great experience tho.

One is now an independent TA the other works for Universal Orlando full time in management and is applying for citizenship.

Whilst I totally agree with PPM jn respect of the pay, i personally think that the thought that goes into a gift, the trouble you have taken to transport it 5000 miles, says more about you and your appreciation of the service provided than whipping a $5 dollar bill out of your pocket ever can.

I am prepared to be lambasted and shot.

A job at disney is often a low paid stepping stone into something much bigger. The value to an individuals CV and the opportunities obtained are immeasurable.

No you won’t be shot. I appreciate what you are saying, but would you do the same for the likes of hotel staff in European holidays, or staff in Port Adventure for example? Or is it the Disney bubble atmosphere that makes a CM different to these others I mention?

They may have Disney themed clothing on, they may be located in a themed area, but in the end of the day they are hospitality staff, just like any other hotel or resort.
As for giving them cash, rather than “ slipping them $5 “ why not get some nice small thank you envelopes to put the money in when handing over? That way they will appreciate that you have gone to some extra effort and not just handed over some small bills you had in your purse/wallet.
