I've got everything crossed that they come to an agreement so no one is affected, the cost is just massive for ordinary families x

I really hope things settle down for you so you can relax and enjoy the build up to your holiday. I hope both your dads are fighting fit before you travel so you can enjoy yourselves X

Hopefully! I have read that it would cost BA more for 1 day of strike to give in to demands. Having said that I have little sympathy for anyone that is striking over an 11% pay rise, especially what they already earn and also if BA give in then they will have all of the others lining up.

The last thing you want to do is cancel and rebook, let BA do it once your particular flight is actually cancelled, you'll get moved to indirect with with BA or another airline most likely.

We fly on Saturday from Heathrow (I hope) on the second day of the first Unite strike action. Going to ring BA tomorrow to see the options

It's 11% over 3 years, not in 1 year, just to clarify. BA are seeking an injunction to stop the strike action.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it all goes well. I had to call BA to link our car booking to our Avis account on sunday and the woman I spoke to seemed to think that long haul wouldn't feel too much of an impact in regards to Heathrow strikes apparently Heathrow have assured BA that everything will be fine! I wish no one were impacted but worst case if they can take care of long haul it'll be easier to rearrange short haul.

Under Trade Union Act 2016, at least 14 days notice must be served on an employer before strike action can be lawfully called.

Just count back 14 days from when you depart to calculate the date that is key to whether likely to be affected, or not,
