Character dinner/tea

Where can I book a character meal for the evening? As in tea - I'm northern so it's tea not dinner!

We've usually been to Cafe Mickey and I can only see the Inventions character dining available now, just wondering if there's anywhere in the parks or Disney Village. I don't want the Princess one, my daughter has decided at almost 9 years old that she's too old for it! I'm 36 and nowhere near too old.

Also, which characters can you normally find at Inventions? Or is it fairly random?

TIA

Nope, only Inventions now.

Characters are usually Mickey and friends but you do sometimes see the odd rarer character - in addition to the usual, we've seen Pinocchio, Geppetto, Launchpad, Max but this is over a period of years. The Sunday brunch has the rarer characters as it's themed, but it is more expensive and only on a Sunday!

I love Inventions though - we go every trip!

Fab, thank u.
Can't do a Sunday as we go Monday - Saturday. Will defo be booking for tea one evening as we always do a couple of character meals there. The best one we did was in an afternno - a tea party at Cowboy Cookout. It was brilliant interaction with the characters, they spent so much time with the kids on the dancefloor and playing around with them. It wasn't all that expensive either and we were all high on sugar!

Yes, it's a very poor show now for character meals at DLP, which surprises me at the prices they can charge! They need to make more money = more character meals.

We went to Cowboy Cookout when it was a character meal too but it was BBQ food like ribs, not afternoon tea, and was excellent!

It's a shame that there isn't more choice for character meals, or more theming. I remember my sister doing a jungle themed one in the park years ago with Jungle Book and Lion King characters (she had 2 animal obsessed boys so no interest in Princesses). Maybe once the Marvel bit is all sorted then maybe they'll cater for a SuperHero themed meal for boys or something different like that. I phoned up to book Inventions and struggled to get in for our stay in a few weeks (late notice I know) but it's obviously still a popular thing. Hope they sort more out soon!
