Lanyard at MCO
Hi, could anyone tell me if MCO staff recognise the lanyard from Gatwick? My son has autism and THomas Cook have been great at explaining everything that will happen at Gatwick and on the plane but not for when we arrive in Orlando. I’m dreading the immigration queues! Thankyou

I don't know if they recognise the lanyard but they do have a special assistance que at immigration it's mostly for wheelchair users but if you explain you may be able to use it.

Hi, we went to MCO on the 13th of April and my son had the lanyard on. Even though we were one of the last off the plane we staff recognised it and escorted us to the special assistance queue, where we only had to wait about 5 mins before being seen, so it worked well for us.

This is my earlier post, I contacted MCO via a direct message on Twitter. We go in July 2019 and I'm planning to send our details ahead.

I havent flown into MCO yet (this August) but have flown into Sanford without the lanyard for my son age 10 now. We informed the airline before we flew and so on arrival to airport went through the disability immigration section. I didnt even give it a second thought and they didnt ask to be fair.
You will be fine but happy to give you an update when i return x |

Virgin have sent me the link to a TSA card which they have asked me to print out and use on arrival at MCO. I'll try to find the link and post on here x

Managed to find the details. This was an email from Virgin Holidays Special Assistance. So far they have been really helpful.
The security/customs and immigration lines in the USA are manned by TSA agents. If passengers have a disability that may not always be visible, such as Autism we would suggest for them to have a copy of the disability notification card on them. This card can be printed and completed at home prior to travel and can be shown to any TSA agent to help fast track their queuing process. This card can be accessed through the following link: tsa.gov/sites/default/fi...n_card_508.pdf I'm pretty sure they would recognize the lanyard as well, however I have printed this as well. |

Yeah it’s the same one green with yellow flowers. All of that group of airports use the same one.
