:) DVC Annual passes for Disney World

Hi Everyone,

We are DVC owners (purchased in 2009) we are planning our next Disney trip for summer 2020 and then looking even further ahead, we plan to visit 2021 & 2022. I have looked on the DVC website to compare the annual pass prices for an idea of what we would pay but I wondered if we have to purchase the platinum pass. We do want to do the water parks but we will not travel Christmas/Spring break times so we could have the 'black out dates' I wondered if we can buy a less expensive annual pass for the 6 parks?

thank you

I have the same problem. I think it might be cheaper to get the Gold Pass and a water park annual pass.

Gold Pass: $589 (+Tax)
Water Park Pass: $130 (+Tax)
Total: $719 (+Tax)

Platinum Pass (DVC): $729 (+Tax)

So $10 (+Tax) saving per ticket.

I read on the DVC site that the Gold annual pass is exclusive to Florida residents so I assumed we could only pick between the platinum or platinum plus. That is a good idea though, I didn't know you could buy a water park annual pass. thank you

We have had a gold pass in the past and being able to buy the Florida residents pass was a DVC perk so I think you can get it.

We bought the Gold pass last year and there was a free upgrade to the Platinum pass when we activated it That's not meant as a brag, it was just that if get the Gold pass there may be a free upgrade.

that is good to know thank you. I spoke to my other half and he said because we have time on our side and we are not planning to go back until 2020 we can wait for the pound to hopefully get stronger or wait for DVC to advertise a special offer, fingers crossed!
