Yes, I always have the charger with the Camera in hand luggage, if it was in checked luggage and the bag with it in goes AWOL, the camera isn't much use for long!

It's never occurred to me to put chargers in checked luggage. Even when I do handbag only carry on (rare, since I mostly travel carry on only now) I always carry all my chargers with me - can't face a bag delay without the electronics!

Technically it is better to have chargers in hand luggage. The bigger drone batteries for example have to be carried in hand luggage and cannot be checked due to safety reasons.

I always used to keep them in checked baggage as was sure to be stopped every time carrying them in hand baggage.

This has completely changed now though, as hand baggage seems to be the acceptable place for them!

Having chargers and US adaptors in the hand luggage can be a godsend. We had a 26 hour delay on the way home last year - my son was making many new friends by sharing his charger in the airport (there are sockets between some of the seats in the departure lounge). We ended up in a hotel overnight with only hand luggage, so were able to charge gadgets - crucial for making new arrangements, booking new flights etc. Has also taught my husband that I am always right when I say carry a spare set of clothes in your hand luggage!
