“Refurbished” on BA’s 747s for the Miami route means something different than on the LGW 777 fleet. It’s more of a refresh. BA operates two configurations of 747, and the Miami route almost always gets the version known as “mid-J” (a reference to its 52 business class seats). If economy starts at row 28 in your seat map, it’s one of these.
There are 15 of these aircraft, and by next year all of them will have had a deep clean and new seat cushions in economy and WT+. 9 of them are also getting new IFE, carpets, curtains and lighting. None of them are planned to have WiFi fitted as it stands. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing in advance which one of these 15 you’re going to get, pretty much until the day of travel. Even BA won’t decide until about 3 days before the flight, and it could still change after that. Edited at 02:19 AM. |
